Journey to an enchanted place – a place somewhere between our physical world and virtual reality where the alchemy of the two holds such promise for connecting our work to individuals in ways limited only by our imaginations.

This fast-paced tour of leading-edge patron engagement technology, recorded live at the Tessitura Learning & Community Conference in August 2016, is sure to delight and inspire you.

There has never been a better time to be in education and interpretation in the museum field. If current examples of the use of Augmented and Virtual Reality, Haptic Feedback, Creative Coding and the Internet of Things are anything to go by, the cultural experience of the future will be a jaw-dropping mixture of education and entertainment, with a heavy dollop of magic.

"With all of these things, we're actually getting back to an evolutionary way of understanding and learning. It's all visual, shared and remixed. It's all collaborative and conversational, and it's all about storytelling and experiences."

Nik discusses four trends that are inspiring audience engagement technology.

Using compelling examples from the field and the predictive powers of the Cone of Plausibility, Nik takes the viewer on an unforgettable ride. Strap in and brace yourself for a glimpse into our enchanted future. Click on the play button above to watch the talk.
